Hi All,
I'm trying to receive the French Channels on Atlantic Bird 3. I can receive French Analogue channels through my fixed dish and Analogue Receiver. With my Force Digital receiver and Motorised Dish turned to 5 deg West I am unable to pick up anything. I have tried entering details manually and tried doing a search with the appropriate frequencies activated. Are the channels still free as shown in Feb's Satellite Mag? Paul |

Thanks for the info.
I am searching on this frequency, 20000 and find nothing - is the 2/3 significant and does that need entering somewhere?- sorry to be thick but I'm just a 'plug and play' man. My receiver is a Force D-master 1122S - is the problem because it was originally specked as a MPEG1 and these are MPEG2? Paul |

The frequency should be 11591 MHz, and the Symbol Rate is 20,000.
Sorry to hijack your answer Stick ![]() Forward error correction (FEC) will be 2/3 forward error correction (FEC) is a system of error control for data transmission, whereby the sender adds redundant data to its messages, which allows the receiver to detect and correct errors (within some bound) without the need to ask the sender for additional data. See _http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forward_error_correction

I am confused about whether I need to get an analogue receiver to pick up the main FTA French channels from AB3 or whether they are transmitted in digital, as some of the posts seem to imply. Or will my old receiver Echostar 770D also work for analogue reception? I'm interested in the main channels TF1, FR2 and 3, Canalplus en clair, arte, M6. Also, does anyone know if a 60cm dish will be enough to receive AB3 in the north Manchester area? Thanks for any help you can give me.

The 60cm dish should be fine for reception of AB3.
![]() 12564 V, 12606 V, 12690 V, 12732 V, & 12522 V for the free to air analogue, although please remember that it is broadcast in SECAM and not PAL like we have in the UK 12648 V Canal+ again is in SECAM and for part of the day is encrypted in Nagravision. Not sure if you will be able to view with your receiver properly due to it being in SECAM format. You will definately get a picture but it may be in black and white. Analoguesat will probably be able to fill you in better on this than me. ops:11591 V 20000-2/3 & 11607 V 6944-1/2 for Digital broadcasts of the FTA french channels. As far as i am aware TF1 and M6 are broadcast on Hotbird @13e and not AB3 @5W. ![]() Nano
