Premiere reaches 60,000 HD subs
Premiere has announced improved figures for its high definition service following two financial quarters when HD barely rated a mention.
According to Premiere’s HD newsletter, 60,000 subscribers had signed up to the format by the end of December, an additional 20,000 subs since the German pay-TV platform last made a figure public in its Q2 financials. The broadcaster put the increase down to its November 13 repackaging when the HD movie and sports channels were combined and with Discovery HD offered to consumers for a monthly €9.99. Unsurprisingly the majority of subscribers are combining the HD offer with their existing pay packages.
