Default Faulty TM1500?

Just bought a new TM1500+ off a reputable eBay seller. Installed it all, but the picture has these five evenly distributed vertical speckled lines running down the display. Most noticable on the menus and seem to get bolder when any action is taken via remote. Think this is faulty? Or is there something i can do. Tried diff scart sockets on back, diff scart leads and diff TV's to test on... same result.

It certainly sounds a possibility. Can you take it round a friends house to try, just to eliminate the possibility of local interference?

Also, do you get the same problem if you use the RF-out connection to the TV instead of the SCART?

I would try another TV set too and a different Scart lead if possible

Tried RF output and another TV via Scart. I think my box is screw'd. Also the menu visuals look very sketchy, like amateurish!

You could try re-installing the genuine TM firmware as a latch ditch attemp, just incase there was a glich in the patch or if god forbid the wrong patch was installedm on it. :?

You will find the software and loader on the TM webpage

Try playing around with the system settings see if changing them makes any differences.

Tried that also, switching between CVBS and RGB and still nothing. The reseller has agreed to replace the unit, but spoke to Technomate who are baffled as much as I am. I would flash the firmware, but a little worried it might invalidate the warranty if they start checking it over... but I do want to give it a try. However, I don't think the firmware will solve anything to do with a poor connection or faulty component.

Thanks for the tips!

Does sound like a dodgy component. At least you will get a replacement.

Yeah, don't mess with it - wait for the replacement to arrive. That would be my advice.
