Default General Advice

Hi all,
I am new to this game and am hoping to embark on a journey into the sky's( sorry bad pun). i want to buy a system i am based in liverpool but need some help. i have been doing some digging around on the net am just about to purchased this system.

1 x Technomate TM-1500 CI Super + patch c@ble.
1 x  90cm dish
1 x Wall Mounted Bracket+Fixings
1 x Technomate H to H Motor with USALSDiSEq 1.2
1 x 0.2db LNB
1 x 20M Coax c@ble
4 x “F” Connectors
50 c@ble Clips
I am willing to try to install it my self ( if can't then i can find an installer who can) the questions are as follows

is installation as easy as it looks on some of the forumn how to's and video guides it seems the most important point is getting the pole vertical is this correct?
i already have a sky dish mounted on my back gable wall can i use this as a guide ie 28.2°E?
if i want to watch footie with an Art card do i need a separate cam for this card using the Technomate TM-1500 or can the card go straight into the receiver and the same goes for an DigitALB card.
Does the Technomate H to H Motor have elevation/latitude markings or just elevation.?

well thats all i have to ask for now i have other questions but not sure your allowed to ask about them here

thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum m8.

Your kit list seems pretty good. I'll bet you a pound to a penny it includes a ****ty mount though, and that's the bit that makes or breaks the motor install. You can make it work, but it's hard to get the vertical bit of the pole actually vertical, which as you so rightly say is the basis for a good install.

If you are happy that you can pack the mounting bolts, bend the faceplate or otherwise generally bu99er it about so that it's right, then go for it. Otherwise I would chuck it in the bin and buy T&K brackets and a 2" steel mast. That will only cost another £15 and is far more suitable - and could save you a lot of time and hassle.

Checkout our motor install guide here.

My advice would be to stick to one guide. They're all different and most of them are none too accurate or helpful.

If you approach the install in a professional manner, then the Sky dish will only give you a very rough starting point. You'll need something better than that unless you want to risk spending a long time up the ladder.

The TM-15000 will definitely do the ART card, but most require a patch to do the Conax DigitAlb card. Some do have Conax decryption built in. Try without before you buy an expensive CAM.

The Technomate motor is a clone of the popular Moteck SG2100 motor (which is excellent). The Moteck motor has both sets of markings, so I guess the Technomate motor will have too.

Good luck, and feel free to ask anything else as and when you stumble across it
