Default Setanta Sports gears up for 1 March launch on Freeview

Launching on 1 March, Setanta Sports will be the only premium sports channel available on Freeview.

For the special introductory price of just £10.99 a month, viewers can watch exclusively live coverage of some of the top international and domestic sports, including:

· Exclusively live coverage of the US PGA Tour. Now the only place golf fans can enjoy all the action since the world’s greatest golf tour left Sky Sports to join Setanta Sports

· Exclusively live, the climax to this season’s Bank of Scotland Premier League, including the 11 March Old Firm match and all the action next season

· Exclusively live Nationwide Conference Football from May 2007, including this season’s play-offs

· Exclusively live coverage of top European football from Italy, Germany, France, Holland and Portugal

· The best live Rugby clashes from the Magners League and the French Top 14

· From August, 46 exclusively live Barclays Premiership matches per season. These will be Monday (8pm) and Saturday (5.15pm) matches – matches that will not appear live on Sky Sports. Setanta will have 40 games featuring the top 4 teams versus Sky Sports with 52. By not having Setanta, fans will miss over 40% of the top games.

Sports fans with conditional access-enabled Freeview boxes will now have the option to subscribe to top-of-the-range premium sports at a low price and without having to subscribe to hundreds of unwanted digital channels. The Setanta Sports channel will broadcast on Channel 34 from 1 March.

The key details are:
· Launch date: 1 March 2007 on Freeview Channel 34
· Price: special introductory offer of £10.99 a month
· No minimum contract period
· £10 once-only connection charge
· Broadcast seven days a week
· Content includes live coverage of Scottish PL, PGA Tour, Magners League and FA PL from August 2007
