Default AMSTRAD 100 PROBLEM WITH REMOTE!!

Looking for advice!! Got 3 standard Sky boxes - Panasonic DSB30, an old Pace 2500 and a really old amstrad 100.

I bought a new Sky remote off eBay which works a treat on the panasonic and the Pace, but is doing weird things with my amstrad. Been told the amstrad 100 is different from all other digiboxes - some small frequency difference?

Can anyone shed light on this?

Hello TVnut, welcome to the forum :welc1:

With an ID like that, you should be quite at home here

I'm going to put my hands up on this one. I haven't the foggiest. I know there have been several revisions of the Sky handset, and I've had three different versions which all behave slightly differently on the same TV, but nothing too weird.

All the basic functions were the same and worked fine, so it does look like your Amstrad is either freaking out a bit, or does indeed expect something a little different from the remote.

Have you tried the older remotes from your other boxes on the Amstrad? Of course you have ops:

It would be good to know if you do find a definitive answer though. It's bound to help someone else out in the future.

Hi TV nut

I also have an embarrassing secret, I also used to own an Amstrad DRX100 ops: Only kidding

The Sky remote is the same for all the Sky Digiboxes on the market, If your box is freaking out when the remote is in use it more than likely that there is something wrong with it

If you need to replace it you can probably get one of ebay. You will more than likely get one for under £20 including postage

The only difference between the various revisions of remotes is that extra codes were added to them to allow them to operate the ever expanding ranges of televisions on the market

Hope this helps mate.

My sky remotes do different things even with the same TV codes entered. Buttons that change the TV aspect ratio on one won't on another, other buttons switch between TV AV inputs on one but not another - all very annoying.
