Hi,

I was just wondering, how will satellite's picture quality compare with freeview? Will it have the same compression artifacts?

It varies wildly. Art Sports for example sucks (some channels more than others), whereas TPS Foot is very good.

That's a real random pick of channels BTW

Obviously HD stuff can be stunning.

Generally SD is very good, and will be equal to or better than Freeview resolution.

depends as art is bad because of all the channels are on 1 transponder so compression is needed making the bad picture

where as premiere channels are excellent

Fingers crossed. It is not so much higher resolution that I want I just want to get rid of the artifacts on bbc etc. I also wanted fm-quality digital radio but it turns out that won't happen until they switch codecs or something.

I guess I'll be finding out soon enough - my LNBs and cable arrive tomorrow so I can finish off my installation and play.
