Default Is it possible to crack Sky?

Hi there,

I'm not asking for a tutorial/keys (although anybody wanting to give one is welcome), but is it actually possible to crack open Sky? I'm just wondering because I have a friend who has every channel (Sky Movies/Sports/Adult) cracked on his NTL box, he has a modified something AT card in it?

Anyway, just wondering if it is indeed possible on satellite.

I know Televest use Nagravision as an encryption system so I'm guessing that n~t~l are the same. Nagravision was cracked quite a while ago.

There used to be quite a few forums on c@ble but i think most of them have been shut down by the c@ble companies

If your mate does get caught they will come down on him heavily. c@ble companies like to make an example of people when they catch them

I would agree with WOD that he is probably using a mosc card or a modified card like a PRUSSIAN 3 Fun 5 etc etc.

The NDS encryption that BskyB use is locked up solid or if it is compromised it isn't public Its a well known fact that NDS and uncle Rupe would quite happily throw as many resourses and as much money needed in order to get someone convicted, as such no one in their right mind would make it public even if they had managed to break it.

In otherwords don't f**k with Uncle Rupe

There were rumours of it being compromised a few years back but a new encryption system was rolled out within days. Remember when we went from the light blue card to the DK blue yellow house one? That was when it was rumoured to have happened

If NDS were compromised again you can guarentee Uncle Rupe will have at least one other encryption system waiting to be rolled out :|

I dare say one day it will happen and NDS will come crashing down, but to be honest i can't see it happening for a long long time

Thanks.

I don't particularly like the guy anyway, so I might call Virgin :spite:.

He says that he gets a new card once a month so I'm guessing its a clone of another card. He also has a modified cable box, so I'm guessing he has the MAC Address cloned. His interactive and On Demand services are disabled.

Is it possible to clone a Sky Card and use it in a second room in your house or do you HAVE to pay for MultiRoom?

Don't mean to be a party-pooper, but I think we've basically covered it, and I rather enjoy seeing my family every day, so I'll close this thread now
