Help needed with patching please
I have been to the Al7bar site where you can get patching and other "materials" for 'viewability'. However, before I start anything, I need some basic instructions and will appreciate some help. The receiver in question is a Fortec Star FSIR 5400 (Irdeto-embedded); at Al7bar there are several files to download for this receiver; I have what i believe to be a null modem cable. Now the questions: 1. Is the "patching" software different from a 'loader'? :? 2. Do I need to load the 'loader' before the 'patching' software itself? 3. Would appreciate a brief step by step instruction on how to do the patching. Thanks for all the help and information here

Thanks Nano
I'm beginning to think the receiver might be patched already --- because I find that I can actually input codes manually. I have tried a couple of codes from another site (for packages on 19E) though with no luck so far. Am I right in thinking that as I can input keys manually, it is already patched? Thanks

I haven't updated the patch yet but I have just noticed that at present I can watch the Cyfra packahe at 10892H on Hotbird. ![]() Maybe I should stay with the patch that it seems to have presently for the moment??? To prove that I am now well n truly hooked, I am thinking of getting a Technomate receiver; by the way the basically new Fortec Star 5400 cost me the grand sum of 18 pounds on ebay! 8)

Ah, correction - I should be so lucky.
I can only see the channels for about a minute or so before the screen seizes up; some kind of free preview I guess :

I've had a similar experience with the AB Sat package on 13°E (Seca/Viaccess) - some channels will open for a matter of seconds (using CCcam decoding Viaccess) before freezing, while certain other channels won't open at all. I use a Dreambox 7025, but I have to confess that I really don't know what I'm doing. I hadn't planned to get into keys anyway, but the hobbyist in me found the temptation too much, so I found some keys and FTP'd them over.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone out there can offer any suggestions regarding what packages are relatively easy for a newbie to open, and some clues as to how to go about it (I only want clues, rather than full instructions, as I'd like to feel I've managed something largely on my own). |

The keys for TPS change very frequently (as you've found). mgcamd seems to be the best at getting around this ATM, and needs the TPS.bin file (AFAIK).
Find the keybundle at satandream.com or similar, and Premiere on 19.2E will open easily. It's been stable for weeks. The content on the Premiere Direkt and Premier Sport portals are accessed by pressing the green button once on the portal itself and then selecting the sub-channel. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks, Stick. I'm still finding my way around the various files, but I will keep at it (at the moment I can get a few Viaccess encrypted channels and a couple of Cryptoworks ones).
