Hi everybody
I have joined the forum few days ago and was busy reading your input and comments. I was using the SAT until 2003, for business reason I was relocated and never used it since then. I Also discovered that a lot has been changed since then. I hope you can help me to find out why I can't receive FTA German channels (RTL, SAT1, ARD etc..) on Astra 19.2E, I even can pick up Premiere when I start automatic search, I am located in Romania. I tried to ask several people around, and I heard different stories. Someone told me I need a 2m dish in order to get those channels. I also interested in Nilesat 07W, is it possible to receive the channel from Nilesat in Romania with a bigger dish, by the way I am using Humax VACI-5300 receiver, and 80cm dish. Your help is appreciated Thanks dmali |

Hi :welc1:
For Nilsat take a look at http://www.flysat.com/nilesat.php then click on footprint to see if you can get a signal with your size dish. For 19east go to http://www.flysat.com/astra19.php and carry out the same process. BH |

from the footprints of astra 1 you should be good for astra 1 reception but i think you may need to up the dish size certainly above 1m to get good reception

If you can get Premiere on 19.2E, then you should ultimately be OK. Your transponder list is probably out of date, and there have been plenty of changes to frequencies etc. since 2003.
Check out the transponder lists at Flysat too, and compare them to what's in your receiver - then you can update/add them if they're missing etc. If you still have problems, let us know and we'll try to figure out exactly what's going on. Welcome to the forum. I hope we can get you sorted

Wow thanks for your feedback,
I have downloaded all frequencies from flysat and Lyngsat week ago and was sitting in front of the damn SAT receiver for hours trying to find out these channels without success. The premiere channels that I received is on 11798H 27500 3/4. I am worried because I have zero signal when I type these frequencies to the receiver 12051V 27500 3/4 12188H 27500 3/4 12226h 27500 3/4 But the funny thing is I don't have any problem with Hotbird channels!! I have downloaded humax setting for astra and hotbird and will try to uploaded to the receiver with formula software. Some how I have the feeling that need a bigger dish. Dhiae |

I get a signal strength of around 82% on 11798H, 73% on 12051V, 75% on 12188H and 90% on 12226H.
My dish isn't aligned properly for 19.2E at the moment, and you will get very different results to me in Romania, but they are not very far apart in power radiation, so you should expect to get them comfortably with say a 1.2m dish if you can get 11798H on an 80cm dish. The Premiere transponder is on a slightly different (more beneficial, as far as you're concerned) beam to the others, which may just explain why you can receive Premiere but not the others (which are all on the same '1H' beam). What signal strength and quality are you getting on the Premiere channels?

according to the SAT list that I have from FLYSAT, the 11798H is on 1F, and looking at the foot print is realy just
1KR is covering east Romania and 1F is on the edge. the rest 1G, 1E and 1H are fare. The signal strength that I receive (signal level 52, and signal quality 52) dmali |

Yes, I looked at the footprints. They don't appear to be dramatically different, and I think that a reasonable jump in dish size should do it. I doubt that you'll have to go to 2m though.
