Hi everyone. This is my first posting so if I fail to follow the accepted protocol please advise me. As you may have realised from my account name I am new to satellite TV but in the process of upgrading my setup and hopefully my knowledge.
My question is about connecting up a 6 degree Inverto Monoblock and a single LNB using a 2-way Diseqc switch. Is this possible or does the Monoblock have a built in Diseqc switch that would conflict with the signal from the 2 way. My original idea was to use an A-B switch that I bought but then I got the 2 way. At the moment I am using a Silvercrest receiver with a single LNB to receive free to air programmes from the 28.2 east Astra satellite. (I bought the complete kit from a supermarket for £59.99 which has proved to be very easy to set up and use) I would like to view programmes on the Astra 19.2 and the Hotbird 13 east. To do this I will be using a Technomate TM 7755 2VA 2CI receiver and an 80 cm dish. (For a novice like me the Technomate manual is not that user friendly. Also the illustrations are too dark and the book is too small.) My next project will be to patch the receiver, once the new setup is up and running. Hope someone can offer help and advice. Many thanks. Techless |

Hiya mate, welcome to the forum
![]() Monoblocs have an inbuild disecq switch which will probably conflict with the 2 way disecq switch. You could get away with a manual 2 way switch to change between the monobloc and the 3rd lnb easily enough.

Hi Analoguesat.
Thanks for the information. It will save me a lot of frustration and time trying to get the impossible to work. I will do as you suggested and go back to my original idea of the A-B switch. Thanks again for your help. Techless |

Hi Techless
![]() It would be just as easy and maybe even no extra cost to buy two single LNBs and a 4-way switch, then you can run the short cables from the 28.2E 19.2E and 13E LNBs into the switch, leaving one port free, and then running a single cable back into the house. Two single LNBs will cost less than a monobloc (no switch involved) and you would save the cost and hassle of a second cable run. You would have to swap your 2-way switch for a 4-way, but the latter should only cost you £10 on eBay or similar. You would also have to buy an 80cm dish that included a multi-LNB arm, but that doesn't have to cost much more than a dish with a single LNB holder. That way there will be no messing about when you sit down in front of the telly - everything handled automatically by the 4-way switch. Hope this helps. STICK

Hi BGonaSTICK.
Sorry for not replying sooner. After reading the points you made I will have a rethink. I know in the future I will ask for advice first before buying any kit. Thanks for the information and taking the trouble to reply. Many thanks and regards. Techless |
