wonder if its a result of a bad flash ot a "real" hardware fault

I'll have a pound to a penny that it can be recovered without JTAGing. Even that's not too hard, because I believe you can use a CAS programmer and do it yourself.

You'll obviously be taking some sort of risk, but if I wanted one and didn't want to pay £200, I'd probably buy it.

I've just been offered it for £80 cos some Italian dude wanted it posted to Latin land. Still considering it.

My workmates are now showing real interest in my hobby, now that they've heard my ravings. ( a few of them missed the Sellick game last night cos they won't pay sly the dough).

I watched it on Premiere with German commentary.
I was thinking I could get a bargain for one of them if they act on what they're saying.

Hoping it's just a flash problem, but my back up is that my cousin is a real satellite engineer and could sort it no probs I expect. ( I've got a cas 3+ programmer that's not been out the box with all that's open at the moment

)
He has the contract for At the Races or Racing UK, to set the satellite links up for their live broadcasts from the Scottish Tracks, and some of the Tracks in Northern Blighty.

It's good value at £80. The CAS3 will fix it if Dreamup won't. It might only need a flash-erase!

Working, it's got to be worth £160 without a hard disk, minimum.

Bit of a morality trip I think, don't mind big companies losing a few bucks considering the profits they make.
Hate to think somebody on a small budget getting ripped off.
Been there myself when things are tight.
