How do you get files from Flashwizard to USB

Hi all,

I have downloaded some emu files to my PC. However I can not get the Flashwizard Pro to download them from there to the USB stick.

Do I have to do something to the files before they can be put them on the USB stick. What am I doing wrong anyone!

Can you ftp into the DB? If not you need to set the connection up BEFORE you do anything else.

Once thats done use FWP to format the stick (click on the config and utilities button) then format usb button. Make sure only theusb stick is selected over on the top right Devices to use (multiboot) tick boxes

Once that has completed click on the Install or remove a firmware in multiboot button and drag the image onto the Drag & Drop a file here button It will take about 5 minutes to do all the processing

make sure the set new image as default choice tickbox is ticked

finally hit the s/w restart button.
Your new image will boot

Start with one of the easy ones to use - Gemini or Nabilosat

Do you actually mean emu files or do you mean .img files?

You use FlashWizard 6.3 to install .img or FW2 files. You use FlashFXP, CuteFTP or the dcc programmes to install emus.

I have done the following: Used FWP to format USB stick and then used FWP to install Gemini 3.4 on USB this has been done successfully. I have previously noted the point about working the socks off the HDD by having the image installed there instead of USB.

What I would like to do for my next step is to install newcamd on to the Dreambox I'm not all that sure how to go about it though. Do I use CuteFTP at the moment I have newcamd in the CuteFTP menu on the right hand side the first line it begins # /var/tuxbox/config/newcamd/newcamd.conf Does this appear to be correct to you?

If so how do I transfer these to the Dreambox?

Many cams can be installed direct under the blue button in Gemini. Hang on let me change back over to Gem - and grab a beer too.

I'm trying to use CuteFTP to install emus newcamd for the moment.

Grab a beer sounds like this may be a long session back in half an hour going the off licence

Blue - Addons - Download & install - cam

Choose your cam (new camd is in there)

Press ok and follow the instructions. then ga back threough the same stages for cam-config for the same version you choose

To set a cam up use blue then red

You can set cams up for providers, individual channels or set one up for everything.

Whilst you are at it stick evocamd 3.14 on - that one is spectacularly easy to get going.

To install an add on manually see if you can find the required addon as an flilename.bz2 file. If you can then ftp it into the tmp folder and use this sequence:

blue - addons - manual install

highlight the required item and away you go.
