Default Problems with dreambox

Howdy,
Came in from work today and switched the dreambox on, only to find that the remote control is not operating. :?
Can't seem to find the problem, tried swapping out the batteries, flashing the box with the factory image, removed the usb stick and the hard drive
Getting a light on the remote when I press the buttons, but receiver not accepting the signal, so can't get past the initial set-up page.
Any advice would be aprecciated.
Regards

Howdy,
Re-flashed the box with the factory image, stil no joy
Pressed the help buton on the remote and the screen flickered, then it started operating ok.
Can now get past the initial screen and set up the box again.
Weird (for my limited knowledge) :?

Howdy,
Managed to flash gemini 3.4 back to DB from flash wizard, and got the usb stick back into the box.
Running ok, now.
Signal strength seems to have dropped a bit , so I don't know if it's the weather or some movement in the dish set-up(pissing the rain now).
Haven't a scoobie what happened :?

Maybe it's something in the remote breaking down? Maybe the IR sensor on the box? Interference?

New remotes can be had from satstore.co.uk if you ever need one. 'Bout £25 IIRC.

What about the web interface? Did you try that?

Did the box respond to the buttons on the front when it was acting up?

LOL, I've got more questions than you

Have you pressed the TV button by mistake?

Try pressing the large Dream button just to make sure.

Howdy,
Still working ok
I first thought that it was the remote itself, so swapped out the batteries. no joy.
Even the dream button wouldn't work jim, it's as if the box was frozen.
I could move the channels up and down ok from the buttons on the db itself, but couldn't switch it off. :?
The pc lost all communication with the db and wouldn't recognise it using dcc.I had to connect the null modem cable and re-flash the box using dreamup.
Put the factory image back in it from there and went back to dcc and re-connected. bingo, communication again but the remote still wouldn't work.
Getting really frustrated, I pushed the help button (as in help me somebody ) , that's when the screen flickered and the remote started working.
Mounted the usb stick and flashed the box with multiboot, and re-loaded gemini (lost all the satellite settings though, and positions)
Went to dreambox edit and re-loaded my channel list and bouquet settings and all is ok again.
Did an ad-aware scan and found 5 critical objects on the pc, so don't know if it came from the pc.
Haven't put the hdd back in yet, so we'll see what happens when I do that.
Regards
