Default RTE ( irish channels )

Hi guys, newbie here, this could be the wrong forum ( or possibly not sure if this is allowed? ), but i recently moved into a flat, that has a satellite dish, unmounted, but im assuming it still works as the wires are still there and everything seems ok.....anyway, i was wondering is it possible to get RTE ( the irish channels ) on just a normal dish, not a sky dish ( its not a motorised dish either! ) with say a dreambox or something other such appliance?

If under wrong forum or against forum rules, please delete!

Thanks for any help,

Paul

You need a Sky subscription registered at an Irish address - its the only way

Oh and a sky digibox and the dish pointing at 28E

Yep, but virtually any old dish will do

I always thought it strange that you can get RTE Radio free to air, including RTE Lyric, but RTE Television is encrypted.

Rights issues (The Irish rights are cheap compared to buying those for the whole of the UK)

RTE International will launch later in the year - a cut down version of the domestic service for expats with all the expensive to licence programmes cut out.
