If you want Sky you can get an option called multiroom. This mirrors you subscription on the main box to the other boxes in your house. It costs 10 quid a month per extra box AND all boxes MUST be kept connected to the SAME UK phone line at all times.

Freesat is free apart from the cost of the equipment (UNLESS you want a card for Channels 4 & 5 which is a 20 quid one off payment per box.)

Yep, one tuner per channel. A standard digibox has one tuner, Sky+ boxes have two.

Distributing Sky TV around the house is easy via a simple RF cable, but as AS says, all TV's get whatever the connected digibox is tuned to. You can control the digibox from the second or third room with a 'magic eye' but all TV's still receive the same channel.

Digiboxes are only around £40 - £45 second-hand on eBay, so for around £180 you could get all the equipment to receive independent FTA TV on each telly including dish and quad LNB.

About the same price as having your aerial replaced by the average installer

Add £60 if you want all the boxes to do Channel 4, FIVE, SkyThree etc. via a card.

Please ask if you want to know more.

much appreciated i am living here in ireland so i assume same rules apply i will get magic eyes for each tv to receive signal from sky from one box but this entails watching same channel simultaneously but as you said i could get digi box's for each tv to watch fta independently

Yes - apart from you cant (legally) get a ftv card in Ireland so will have to find someone with a uk address to get you some if you need them.
