Default ITV Play cleared in phone review

ITV Play has been cleared in ITV's output-wide review of its premium rate participation TV offerings.

The channel was taken off air last week along with all other premium rate interactive services on ITV's channels while an independent review took place after allegations of irregularities in some programmes.

"Following the return of the interactive services in Dancing on Ice last Saturday, ITV can confirm that Deloitte have performed the first stage of their review of the interactive processes and procedures contained within This Morning and ITV Play programming on ITV1," ITV said in a statement yesterday morning. "On the basis of the information available, including Deloitte's findings, ITV is satisfied that the both are being operated in accordance with the Icstis and Ofcom codes. As part of our complete commitment to ongoing compliance, ITV will continue to observe the operation of interactive services with Deloitte's assistance."

ITV Play (the channel) closes on Thursday. A programme strand will continue on ITV1 overnight.

The ITV Play FreeView slot will be taken by ITV 2 +1

It will not return to Sky or FreeView

Yep, unbelievable huh?

Who on God's green earth wants a timeshifted version of ITV2?!?!

ITV2 itself is already three weeks behind the rest of the world!
