Default Just before I go...

Hi all!

As I said, I'm getting paid tomorrow & I'll also be ordering my kit. The kit I've got lined up is:
  • TRIAX TD110 1.1M DISH
  • SkyStar2 PCI Card
  • Moteck SG2100A DiSEqC motor
  • T&K Brackets
  • CT100 Cable
  • 0.3dB LNB

So, what do you think, anything I should change?

I was also thinking, the triax dish looks heavy, would a DIseQc motor be strong enough for it?

The dish is a bit big for the motor IMO, but lots of people use this combination and get away with it.

I definitely wouldn't use a 1.1m on a DiSEqC if you're going to mount it high up in a windy location.

Personally, I think the TD88 is a good match for the motor, and won't stress it too much.

Once you stand in front of a TD110, you'll realise just how big and heavy it is. Up a ladder, it's a two-man job if ever there was one.

Other than that, the kit list is good. I have everything that's on it

the gibertini 1metre dish will be a good alternative to the triax dish as its nice and light because made from aluminium

hisat in Bristol stock them so you could go and pick up if you live or can get to there

with the triax you might be better with the polar mount and 36volt motor, depends on dish location though

If you did go for the polar mount and 36 volt actuator, you would also need a v-box to convert the diseqc signal to 36 volt motor signal. Extra cash.

DiSEqC is such a neat solution to the motorised dish 'problem', as long as you use your common sense.

It's obvious that a heavy 1.2 or 1.3m dish in a 70mph wind is going to shred a DiSEqC motor.
