my setup is fortec star 60cm dish on beta stb, currently pointed at 28e.
ops:can i add additional lnb's to this dish on a bracket and if so what bracket, lnb and switch would people recommend. i dont mind re targeting the dish to a different primary sat but would like to keep 28e in the field. at some stage i would like to get a motor dish possibly controlled through the switch if that makes sense! :? one day i will be able to afford a decent setup but until then any help much appreciated ![]() wibble ![]()

the dish will be abit small to add offset lnbs as a 80cm dish is better for that
for the price of lnbs and diseqc switch you could buy a motor to fit to the dish as they are around 30 pound on ebay for a moteck diseqc 1.2/usals motor

Yeah, 60cms is too small really, especially seeing as the next meaty satellite along the arc is 9 degrees round at 19.2E.
You could give it a go though. You may just squeeze them both in by pointing your dish about half-way between the two and mounting an LNB either side of your central LNB holder. You'd have to make your own bracket probably, or modify a generic one. Meccano is good for this purpose ![]() You might be better off adding a scrounged minidish to do the job on 28.2E (these come freely enough if you keep your eyes open) and use the 60cm dish for scanning the skies elsewhere. You can still use a DiSEqC switch to flick between LNBs regardless of which dish they're physically mounted on. You might do better trying to get both Astra1 (19.2E) and Hotbird (13E) on the 60cm dish. DiSEqC switches are much of a muchness. I like the ones made by Global. Not worth getting a 2-way when a 4-way is only a little more IMO. Any setup that gets you a picture on the telly is a 'decent setup' ![]()

ive had an 80cm dish with 28 19 and 13 on it before
the 13 was easy but the 28 took some time and effort to get a decent signal so id try like STICK says and put the lnbs either side of the center I could not find any old Meccano so used old some old pci blanks and cable ties the prob you get is when you start playing with other sats you start and want them all im really starting to wish id bought a motor than switch lnbs but there are pros and conns for each

Wibbley m8, the real options are whether you want to watch/record different satellites at one time. If so go for the multi lnb. If you are happy with one satellite at a time then go for motorised and then you will be able to get more satellites and change at will.

thanks all
![]() looks like i want to go down the motor route so need to find the £ :'( does anyone know if i can use a motor on my existing fortec dish or would i be better off getting new dish, mount and motor :? and if so what is the best kit? am i right in thinking that a switch is not necessary for a single dish/motor installation! ![]() wibble

my current stb apparently supports DiSEqC1.3/2.3 for motor controlled by usals if that makes any difference wibble

You dont need a switch for either a single lnb or a motor. Your stb sounds ok for a diseqc motor.

Yep, all sounds OK, but your 60cm dish is still on the small size.
Top budget kit ATM is the Gibertini 1m dish on a Moteck SG2100A with any branded 0.3dB Universal LNB IMO. T&K brackets, 2" steel mast and CT100 coax.

thanks guys
re the Moteck SG2100A, the spec indicates input/output voltage as 13/18V, my stb only supplies 12V, will this motor work or am i missing something? :? ![]() wibble
