Default any technomate 9100 users out there ?

ok as people know im in the market for a linux based reciever been looking at the dreambox 7020

the only thing the seem to come close is the technomate 9100 just wondered if anyone has one and what there thoughts are on it

from looking around the support seems to be building and some of the dreambox apps have been ported

plus its said the tuner is better in the techno than dreambox not sure if thats true ?

and its £100 cheaper, but id pay the 100 to get the right product if you know what i mean

please post your thoughts/findings good or bad

thanks

Default Re: any technomate 9100 users out there ?

The Techno may well be the equal of the Dreambox in the hardware department (though I doubt it). The tuner in the older Dreamboxes was weak, but the later ones are OK. Not stunning, but OK. The Dreambox is now in its sixth (?) generation. All the bugs have been squished.

The Techno is two or three years too late. The goalposts have moved and the DM8000 is on the horizon.

It's not the hardware that makes the Dreambox. It's the following. The number of owners, the knowledgebase and the amount of code. That's worth £100 of anyone's money in my book.

£100 is less than an hours coding work.
