Default Infinity etc

Hi, first off i just wanna say HELLO!
I have a problem, well not actually me but my father-in-law. I don't have a clue when it comes to satellite things so if i start talking about something completely wrong then please let me know!
whats happend is that he has an Infinity card programmer connected via usb and serial and a program called dragonload. I've connected the card programmer and used that before with no problems but now he's got this new card thing, that is this dragonload thingy. So i followed the instructions. 1. loaded the infinity program 2. changed it to ''phoenix mode'' (light on card loader went red as it should) 3. changed it to 6mhz 4. loaded this dragonload software and pressed connect. Now the problem occurs, It says something like Not Connected, check card programmer and ... i cant quite remember as i'm at work and not at his pc. I tried changing over to com 2 and exactly the same thing. Its been really bugging me now so if anyone knows what the silly problem is (probably me) then can you please help.

Many Thanks

Simon

Hi SimonA,
welcome to the forum.
The programmer sounds like the Infinity/Phoenix USB, which makes programming a Dragon Loader card very easy.
First ensure you have the latest drivers for your programmer, this is done for you if you start up your programmer, click on help, about and check for updates, the latest being 1.60.
Once this is loaded insert your card, chip face down, and choose DragonLoaderCard (PIC) from the drop down box, leave the Built in Loader in the PIC, and click on the folder icon next to Ext. EEprom, navigate to the *.dra file you wish to load, click option 2 reverse span, and click write, it is that simple.
When updating your Cams firmware ALWAYS follow the basic rules as failure to do so can result in damaging the Cams bootloader.
Tune your receiver to a FTA (Free to AIR) channel, I usually use BBC World.
Turn off your receiver.
Insert the loader card, chip face up, into your dragon cam, and if the cam is not already in the receiver insert it.
Turn on your receiver.
Go into the receivers menu and navigate to the Dragon Cam.
Click yes load module.
Wait until the cam is loaded, a message will appear telling you loading successful, please remove your card.
Remove your card.
Turn off the receiver.
Now turn on your receiver and the cam should be updated, go into the menu and see if the latest version of Predator is loaded.
The file required depends on which model of Dragon/T-rex Cam you have, at present it is safer if you stick to a Predator file as this is suitable for both the older Dragon/T-Rex cams and the new super T-Rex 4.6 model.
If you run into any problems please post back with more information about the model of your Cam.
Best wishes
Mickha

Cheers for your responses guys. It's pretty tough to explain when i don't have a clue what i'm on about. I'll give it a go when i get time to pop round to his house and have a look. Also i'll note down all the details of the card etc just incase i don't get it sorted. All i know is that the card he handed me was a dragon card and it was red with a picture of a dragon on it.

Thanks again, I'll probably be back posting again if this doesn't work. As i said to him ''there's gotta be someone out there who knows how these things work''

Cheers

Simon

There is, and it's Mickha

It's definitely a Dragon loader card you have, so it should be straightforward with the above guide.

Hi SimonA,
you have the Dragon twincam 4.1, by the sound of it, once you have loaded Predator356.dra or one of the modified predator354.dra files onto your Cam you should have Premiere open on Astra 19.2E.
To open other packages you need to manually update the cam with the latest keys.
For D+, go into the Cam menu, Debug, OhlAladin, and D+.
Choose the key that requires changing. 00 or 01 and input the new key.
You will find the new key might be in Hex format, 2 symbols a combination of letters A-E and/or numbers 0-9, these need to be converted into Dec format 3 numbers, this can be done very easilly and quickly using a tool like Matrix Keyer:

If this does not solve your problem, or you have any new queries, please post back.

Hi SimonA,
there is a link in my previous post to the Matrix Keyer, if you download and run this program you will soon find out how easy it is to use.
As for the latest keys you can locate them all over the internet, D+ change every few days and Cabo seems a little more frequent so you have to check the dates on the keys posted.
