Default Paypal

Before reading, I would suggest that anyone who works for PayPal doesn't scroll down or anybody who doesn't approve or direct flaming of companies.

Right. So I sold a computer, to a con man. He cloned a little old ladys (who can't use a PC) identity. He stole her credit card and her life. I have spoken to her and she is monumentally upset, she has the funds recovered but she lives in fear. So I sold this PC to a guy who was impersonating her. Fair enough, I didn't know this at the time and if I knew that they were stolen I obviously wouldn't have gone ahead. But I did go ahead. So a couple of months down the line there is a chargeback. The case is investigated. Yeah, whatever. They ignored every one of my e-mails (something that has been PROVEN that they do & they were sued for it) and the case favoured the con man. I phoned them and there were four of the most arrogant selfish morons you have ever came across. They litterally laughed in my face. If I was in front of them i would have swung for them. The police by this stage had allready been involved, and they were perfectly happy to vouch for what had gone on, but still they are threatening bailiffs. I can't afford to go to court, I can't afford for my name to be blacklisted in the credit database. So thats it, I'm paying out the money but as far as I'm concerned, every single person who works for PayPal should go and **** themselves. There are hundreds of documented cases about this happening in similar circumstances. It just really annoys me that the Police are happy to vouch for me and that a poor old lady had had her life stolen and PayPal couldn't give a DAMN.

Default Re: Paypal

A warning to everyone I think.

Never accept Paypal for large amounts. Chargebacks are an area where abuse is rife.

Gav, I've edited your post slightly, as I don't think we really want that on our collective conscience
