Default Viewing Card Problems

Hi everyone,
I am new to these forums and would be grateful if anyone can help.
We have just upgraded from Sky to Sky+. We didn't buy the Sky+ box from Sky as we were given it by a friend who has just upgraded to HD. We fitted the Sky+ box ourselves using the Quad LNB we already had and the correct cables etc as we already subscribe to Sky Multiroom. Everything is working fine but when we try to watch Sky Sports which we subscribe to, a message appears on the screen which says we have the incorrect viewing card for the Sky+box. We can view all the other channels in the package we have but there seems to be a problem viewing the premium channels, in our case, Sky Sports 1 & 2. We are using our old viewing card we had with our standard Sky box.

Question is - do I need to get another viewing card which is applicable to Sky+ only or are we able to somehow program our viewing card into the Sky+ box we now have ? It's all getting a bit technical now. ops: I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks

Sports & movie channels are tied to a particular box. You will have to ring Sky and get them to pair the viewing card to the sky+ box.

Yep, a simple phone call should do it. If the Sky+ recording facility isn't currently working for you, then tell them you now have a Sky+ box, and you want the full functionality.

You shouldn't have to pay an additional fee to use Sky+ with the subscription package you have (I believe).
