Default Motorised Satellite system

I am based in Central Scotland and considering mounting a motorised 90cm dish on the wall of my house. Is it legal in this area to have 2 dishes on wall? Will I be able to receive my sky channels plus subscribed channels using the new dish, allowing me to remove the sky dish?
The main reason for fitting a new dish is I wish to receive FTA (or perhaps subscription if available) sports channels from other satellites. I think I would go for the Technomate TM-1500CI receiver, Moteck SG2100A DiSEqC motor and a 90cm dish. Would these suit my needs or are there better alternatives? Also, does anyone have a link to a website where I can determine my latitude/longitude position?
Thanks
Great site by the way

I think the regulations are 4 Anntenas max (There is a post somewhere - search regulations) - that includes DIshes and Terrestrial thingys.

yes that equipment would work well but you might be best to go for a 1metre dish if you can

Not too sure about the regs in Scotland, but two should be OK.

Thanks for the replies. Is it possible for me to view sky, along with my sky subscription channels, using the motorised dish only, and if so what would the hardware requirements be?

Yes, BUT you would have to use a Sky Digibox for the Sky channels, and another receiver for the rest. Also, you would have to use the 'other' receiver to park the dish on 28.2 East and then use the digibox, the digibox CANNOT control a motor.

Thanks Gav. Excuse my ignorance but I'm new to all this stuff. Is there some kind of adaptor to connect both receivers to the dish?

Most FTA receivers will have a loop through or you can buy an A-B switch from off ebay or maplins

Or you can just buy a Dreambox It will control the motor and also will allow viewing of Sky (with valid subscriber card) plus all the other FTA stuff out there.

The only warning is that the dreambox can be a pig to setup and has to have the right OS (image) and EMU on it to allow viewing with a Sky card

Yeah, as Nano said - The cable from the dish into the receiver, and from the back of the receiver into the Sky Box.

The dreambox is (from what I've gathered) a monster to set up with Sky, and it doesn't always work properly.

So your best bet is to loop through - but remember, you need to use your non-sky reciever to point the dish on 28.2 East before you can use the Sky Box.
