I don't really get why five is on 16 East, and the BBC radio channels? It just seems a bit odd- wouldn't it be a bit easier to get them (along with the other UK channels) on 28.2 East? Especially since I would have said 'five' is one of the 'poorest' (last network to have more than one channel & lastt terrestrial channel) channels.
Maybe there is a reason I'm missing. Thanks. Gav.

Distribution to the transmitter network
![]() There are 2 complete DTT muxes on 16E as well - in the clear (although not available to hobby receivers thanks to technical chicanery) Dunno about the beeb channels - they have been there ages.

From what my mate who works at Televest tells me, (ah!! sorry VM)he thinks they get some of their Discovery channels from Sirius 2 5°e So its probably a similar thing:?
I dare say uncle Rupe may have something to do with why VM don't get all their stuff of 28°e ![]() ![]() Nano

I can see where your coming from, i.e Uncle Rupe doesn't own the Astra 2 Birds, but he probably has about 90% of all the broadcast capacity from them which makes him a very powerful player who is not used to not getting his own way

Sky have a lot less of the capacity than you think - probably nearer 40-50%.
Many tp's are leased to 3rd party operators (eg Globecast) or direct to other broadcast organisations eg BBC, ITV, C4, C5 etc
