I saw that, and for the price its just a bit pricy for my liking.

There are loads of similar products that are far cheaper and better. ;D

SVP got their pictures wrong. Here is correct one:

As to device itself, there are not many cheaper devices on market that could do the same things straight out of the box.
You can get XBMC on Xbox or SMS on PS2 that'll do network play but that's pretty much it in this price range. And modding PS2/Xbox is too difficult for many people.

Oh, read the prices wrong. There are digital streamers that are WAY cheaper than this, but none with a built in Hard Drive.

I think one of the only other ones at this price point is the Apple TV.

There are one or two others, but their names elude me.

There are a couple of HDD-based players on market but most of it doesn't have network (apart from VERY expensive models, such as TVix). Those with network interface tend not to have HDD (again, there are some exceptions from this rule, such as Kiss DP-558).
As to cheaper streamers - there are not that many of these products on market and most of these are around 180 quid mark. Apart from Pinnacle Showcenter, of course

Wireless streamers are pretty cheap these days,

There are just three above.

The Logitech ones are for music only and if I recall correctly, these were 35 quid from PCWorld the other day. Same as Philips Streamium 5520 (this one was 50 quid or so).
The Netgear is one nice Syabas-based player and getting good reviews. Still quite pricey though.
