HI All
This might be a stupid question but can FTA channels be removed from free to air back to subscription channels, or is it once FTA they have to stay that way,

They can go either way as and when unfortunately

Yes, providers (including Sky for sure) usually include something in their Terms and Conditions giving them the right to move stuff from package to package, or encrypt/unencrypt them at will (within certain boundaries).

Some channels on the other hand are supposed to stay FTA (like the BBC channels for example) but again there are get-out clauses relating to certain platforms or services etc.

So, it comes down to individual content providers, basically.
