Hi barrie1,
can you please list a few of the other channels you have managed to tune in on your receiver, and the relevant details, Frequency etc.., this will help us work out which satellite you are on.

I think both Sky Assist and Neth Sri Lanka are on Hotbird 13E, so it looks like you have aligned your motor on the wrong satellite.
To get 5W you will have to do as BGonaSTICK states and move your assembly 18 degrees west, to your left, if you're facing the dish.

Hi again,
I think I may well be on Hotbird.

I have moved the dish on it's mast and now I have 20 channels which I am pretty sure are A Bird3. The dish is still set on the "0" motor arm.

Hi barrie1,
you need to ensure that your pole is absolutley vertical, this is essential when fitting a motorised system.
If your pole is plumb, and you have aligned your dish, and motor, on the satellitte closest to true south, then you can start moving your dish and program the other satellites. you are capable of receiving. Check out this post, by Analoguesat, which will help you work out where the satellites are positioned.

Hi,
Where do I go from here? Can I now find the other satellites?

Will the satellite I am on bbe OK for finding the others? I take it I drive the dish from the receiver at this point. What do I need to set as when I scan other satellites it seems to go for what I already have? As I said, the book is almost silent aboiut moving the dish and receiver settings. The menu looks very complicated so a little guidance here would be fantastic. I am sure I will get there but there are so many settings on the dish and the receiver. Yes, I have taken a lot of trouble to check the pole is vertical, both with a spirit level and a plumb line. Hope it is spot on.
All your help is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. I will give it best for tonight and try again tomorrow unless it can all be done from the receiver.

Have a read through the Utilities, FAQ's section, which should help you configure your motor.
http://www.satellitehelp.co.uk/forum...php?board=11.0
If your dish is set up correctly everything else is done from the receiver.
Good luck and please keep us all updated with your progress.
Best wishes
