hi all does the dreambox 500s alps have viaaccess for an art card to recieve art sport1 to 6.

The dreambox uses different emus to emulate certain cams

Various ones include, CCcam, MGcamd, gBox etc etc..

It can be loaded with unofficial 'software' emulation to perform Viaccess decryption for ART, so yes - it will work once you have done this.

You do realise that there will probably be no Premiership football on ART/Hotbird next season?

Thanks BGonastick How do i get software ? I was told the box had every thing to view premiership football, and yes I did know about Art non having the premiership next year. so I only bought a three month card but I cant get working.
like i said my brain hurts.

I would suggest that you do a lot of reading and ask a lot of questions. It's not a quick and easy process, setting up a Dreambox. Please be prepared for a steep learning curve. We understand how you feel - it's normal - this is not easy stuff!

I would suggest reading the original Dreambox manual very carefully to start with, and then visit _www.i-have-a-dreambox.com. Register, go to the database section and locate the Gemini Maxvar image. Download it to your PC, and read the doco that comes with it.

Once you understand how to flash the Gemini image obtained from IHAD, and you have your Dreambox connected to the Internet (a must, really) you will be able to download the required plugins (emu's etc.) using just your remote control. Then you will simply be able to insert your ART card and watch the football.

Take it slow, and we'll try to help you get it all going
