Thank you for your response. The Unicable idea looks interesting (feeding first Receiver 1, then moving to Receiver 2, then Receiver 3 and 4 in order to have only one cable doing the work of several parallel cables) but I think it may be a shade too experimental for me, and I have an empty attic in which I can run my two cables to Receiver 1 and Receiver 2.

I am pleased to get your confirmation that my proposed connections should work. I shall be sticking as far as possible to Triax gear (dish, LNBs, DiSEqC switches) so that should eliminate technical conflicts. I shall be locating the switches just behind the dish (viewed from the LNBs) and running two cables through the wall into the attic for the two receivers. I probably wouldn't save much cable run with Unicable. As regards receivers, I'm thinking of the Technomate TM-1600 2 CI Super.

"Drawback? Only a few receivers support it right now, though influences from mainland Europe seem to be causing the standard to spread to the UK. The Vantage for example has this capability."

Is this a reference to Unicable? Or to the proposed method of combining switches? (I hope it's Unicable!)

With your confirmation I can now go ahead and order the gear - and when I get things set up (which will take me a while ... my translation customers don't seem to understand the priorities of satellite dishes and things ... ... ) I'll post some feedback on this thread about the results).

Thanks again - Charles

Yes, the drawback refers to Unicable support. Unicable has been around for years, but support and adoption rates have been truly awful until very recently.

Look forward to hearing how your project goes.
