Your missing frequency is just underneath that of the DECT phone frequency allocation, but it could just about be that I suppose. It needn't be your phone - it could be a neighbour - anything up to 300m away.
Your missing Intermediate Frequency works out at 1854 MHz, whereas the DECT phone frequency range is 1880 - 1900 MHz. As Analoguesat says, when it's just one or two transponders that are missing, it's usually interference of some sort. As a test, turn of everything you can think of (unplug from mains), and remove batteries from all cordless phone handsets etc. If that doesn't identify the culprit, the next thing to try would be to replace the coax with some high-quality CT100 copper double-screened cable. You can just run this through a nearby window as a test. Next up would probably be to replace the LNB on the dish. These replacements would cost around £10 - £15 each if you buy them from the right place, whereas an engineer callout from Sky is going to cost £65 (the last I heard). The best approach IMO is to call Sky back, and tell them that if they don't get an engineer round to fix it for free within seven days, you will be cancelling your subscription altogether (assuming you're not in your 12m contract period). You can be sure they will jump to it PDQ, as they are desperate to hang onto their customers at the moment. If you cause enough stink, you will probably get a reduction in your monthly fee too. Really.

I did ask to remove movies as I couldn't watch them but it was only a £5 difference and I would have lost disney cineamagic and life would not be worth living when my 4 year old found out.
I did say that I shouldn't have to pay for an engineer but they didn't offer anything. I have now e-mailed them and await their response. |

You have to threaten to unsubscribe to get them to offer you anything. Hold your nerve and go in hard. They will back down. Why should you pay for something you can't get?
If your problem is with local interference, and it's not easily solved, then you should be entitled to a discount anyway ![]()

Be careful with the phone call - theres a lot of info going around at the moment that Sky have cut back on the retention offeres, so when folk ring up and say "I want to leave" Sky say "ok, goodbye"!

You can always ring them up again the next day and join again
![]() I don't see what there is to lose really, I don't even think you'd be tied in for a further 12m, as you're not taking any new subsidised hardware, just reusing your out-of-contract box :?
