Default Technomate beginner

Hi

I finally got my new Technomate 1500 CI+ Super receiver connected to my dish this week . My dish is pointed at 19.2e (My receiver states its getting an 80% quality signal). Now that I have played around with it a bit I want to unlock some channels. I know that the patches are on a l s a t, but need advice as I dont want to fry my box .

Right mate first of all you will need to download the newest firmware loader for your box from the a l s a t forum.
I think ver 1.8.7 is the newest :?

Secondly download the newest patch (at the time of writing and until i put the newest one here - "D+ Au 1000 series PATCH 04/10/2007) and unzip it to a folder which you could call "patch"-make sure you d/l the right one!!!!

Connect your receiver to you computer using the 9pin null modem c@ble and switch it on.

If you are on a card meter make sure you have enough credit to ensure your power doesn't go off. If it goes off midway through flashing the image to the box it could scrap the receiver

Start the loader program, click the software tag and then browse. You then have to select the firmware file.

When this is done click on connect and it will show the firmware currently installed on the box. follow the on screen instuctions, If i remember right it is start or something like that. Do not press cancel for any reason

It will download the software to the box, erase the current image and install the new image.

The loader will then state when it is finished and the box should reset itself

The same procedure applies for Softcams and channel lineups. It also applies for TPS bin files although you won't need to worry about that unless you point your dish at 13e (Not necessary now since TPS auto update)

Just remember don't press cancel and make sure you have enough electric if your on a card meter and you will be fine

If it all goes wrong you'll need to look at this

Hope this helps mate

Should have asked this.

Presumably because I have the 1500ci+ super I still have to download the darkman patch for 1500ci+ despite the missing 'super'?

Also the 1000 series loader is the one I should use right?

Just want to be 100% sure for obvious reasons

Good luck. Prepare properly as Nano says, and then just be brave.

Yes, the 1xxx series patches/loader are all the same for TM and TMS models.

also for digital + on astra 1 19.2e, to get fox, sci-fi channel, paramount comedy to name a few. you will need to load softcam files every few days as the keys change for d+ more than premiere does

its the same way as when loading the patches but you select the key tab instead

best thing about digital + is that quite alot of the channels fox etc have english sound option but you should get that straight away if you choose english as the first audio available in the settings
