Default Control Sky Box from PC?

Hey, I'm trying to find a tutorial that I had in my bookmarks, it shows you how to control a Sky box with a serial cable?

Any ideas where the tutorial is?

Thanks.

There are a couple of bits of software to read the output from the serial port - EPG data and stuff, but it's pretty ugly. There is also a device which supposedly 'controls' the digibox, but requires a hardware device to be attached also (at a cost of around £45 IIRC).

I don't know of a software-only solution

Right, I'd have a go, but I've got the wrong type of serial cable (its male-male)

I've got the male and female RS232 parts, I'm just not sure which wiring method I should follow, is it just basic pin 1 to pin 1 pin 2 to pin 2 e.t.c.?

The article I read indicated the use of a 'modem' cable, as opposed to a null-modem cable :?

I don't think you can do much damage. If it doesn't work, just unplug it quick!

I'll dig out the bookmarks I had and post them if I remember.
