The satellite service of Portuguese cable TV operator TVTel is set to launch on May 15 via a Eutelsat Eurobird at the 9° East orbital position.
The pay-TV package will be made up of 17 channels (RTP1, RTP2, SIC, TVI, RTPN, Fox, AXN, Canal Hollywood, MGM, Odisseia, The Biography Channel, CanalPanda, Canal de História, ESPN Classic, NASN, MTV and Região Norte TV), as well as an info channel and two test channels. The operator is planning a special promotional launch campaign, lasting three months, during which the monthly subscription will cost E9.95 instead of the full price of E13. Região Norte TV (RNTV) will be TVTel’s first venture in the content production area. The channel, which will launch via cable and satellite in September, will substitute Invicta TV, acquired by the operator at the beginning of the year.
