Tried changing my root password today using the 'password' menu under blue button/extras in Gemini 3.2.

It accepted the update, but then allowed BOTH passwords for 'root'.

Sorted it out with Telnet, but can anyone explain this nonsense? Is Telnet still the best way to do this?

To my mind, telnet is the only way to do it. It is easy and you can see exactly what you are doing. Also it doesn't leave temp garbage around in memory.
