Can someone direct me to a printed protocol telling me how to get a channel list for 19E FTA onto my ProgDVB.
I'm a zapper and a tweaker and I seem to have overdone it. I could scroll down the complete list to see who is showing what, then I fouled up the Elecard activation and since tweaking that I could only scroll down 3 stations before I got the Microsoft error message 'ProgDVB has encountered a problem and needs to close'. I've now reinstalled the Technisat SkyStar2 and updated ProgDVB to version 4.85.1 and activated the Elecard video decoder, but the problem is worse. I can call up one channel , say BBC World, but I cant get another channel without switching off and when I try to switch off I get the error message inviting me to send or not send an error report. Perhaps you guys know a reason for this but I suspect the problem lies with my current 0192 channel list BUT I dont know how to get a new channel list into place and reading stuff just makes me more confused. I've found an up to date 0192 list on the Joshyfun transponder page but I dont know how to get that into my ProgDVB. Oh boy, do I need help! |

I suspect that when ProgDVB originally crashed, it has corrupt one or more files - maybe your transponder list, but possibly the channel database.
Uninstall ProgDVB, delete the ProgDVB directory and everything in it, and re-install. You can manually create a transponder .ini file, or massage one from a different format. Once you have it fixed, copy the whole ProgDVB directory periodically as a backup. That's what I do.

Yep uninstall progdvb then delete the progdvb folder and then reinstall. This usually works for me when things foul up. I do the same with most windows programs that stop working.

I'm back, with the same problem. Switchon gives me the last channel viewed and when I try to switch to another channel I sometimes get the error message or I can view up to three channels before I get the error message and it then closes the program. I tried to read the error message it would have sent to Microsoft
but It didnt give a clue what was in error. When I uninstall thru Control Panel/Add Remove programs I get a box inviting me to either Delete all files in ProgDVB Directory or Delete Channel List and Settings and Unregister filters. I've tried it using both alternatives. I keep the file C\ProgDVB but all the folders are emptied and channels and transponders are removed. If anything corrupt is left it must be in Registry which I darent touch. I worked out how to get the JoshyFun latest Satellite List into a new folder in My Documents and I transfer only 0192.ini over to the installed ProgDVB Transponder file when its needed. So, after several attempted re installs I went for the big one. I uninstalled Technosat SkyStar 2, ProgDVB and DVBViewer GE my standby. Then I removed all traces where ever I could, except in Registry. Then I did all my usual clearances, scans and defrag etc then I was ready to proceed. Download and install SS2 was easy and that also installed DVBViewer TE BUT I couldnt find an install for DVBViewer GE so I set up the TE version and it works so far with no problem, although I've not tried recording yet. The well practised download and install of ProgDVB went well, there was no transponder list and I transferred in 0192.ini and did the Channel list scan and did the Settings. I chose BBC World and that was ok but when I tried for the next station I got the error message. On the next attempt after BBC World I got two more stations then the error message. I do want ProgDVB, its easier to choose from their Channel List and to record using their setup. Sorry if this is longwinded but I've tried to explain all my actions. Could it be that I'm getting something corrupt from my SkyStar2 install CD. |

Which version of the Skystar drivers are you using, and which version of ProgDVB?

I was concerned about the above, I've checked and I DO have SS2 V 4.4.0.
I found I'd done a download and install of a 1316.zip which I believe gave me the V 4.4.0 although the title didnt say that. |

Try dropping back to ProgDVB version 4.56.2. It was very stable.
You can try dropping back to previous versions of the SS2 drivers as well. There are some really old ones in the SS2 section here, but they still work fine. I'm still using them.

another thing to note is is your pc intel or AMD? If its intel there is an add on on the progdvb site I think that you need to put in the progdvb folder
