British TV standards are deteriorating because the BBC is "run by women", according to astronomer Sir Patrick Moore.
In an interview with Radio Times he described female newsreaders as "jokey," and called for separate channels to cater for the needs of the different sexes. The Sky at Night presenter said: "The trouble is the BBC now is run by women and it shows soap operas, cooking, quizzes, kitchen-sink plays. You wouldn't have had that in the golden days. "I used to watch Doctor Who and Star Trek, but they went PC - making women commanders, that kind of thing. I stopped watching." Moore added that interesting programmes were screened too late at night, and said he would "rather be dead in a ditch" than appear on Celebrity Big Brother. The BBC has responded by calling Sir Patrick one of "TV's best-loved figures" and said his "forthright" views were "what we all love about him". Source: Digital Spy _________________________________________________ LOL - say what you think Sir Patrick! What do you think? Have women ruined the BBC, or is it now a better place? It certainly broadcasts a load of crap much of the time. They still have more decent stuff than I have time to watch, so I'm not too bothered. I don't think it's women that have wrecked it, I think it's just a reflection of sliding social and moral standards, and of course money. I do like it when people say what they think though. So often people don't bother for the fear of being condemned by the PC tossers.

I agree with your comments Stick and I also think Sir Pat Moore has got it right.
I say bring back the potter in the tea breaks and the little white dot in the middle of the screen late at night. ![]()

Hmmm... I had an impression that BBC is governed by multicultural leftists metrosexuals? How long would it take until we'll see something like that 'Mickey Mouse' Palestinian program directed against Global Warming deniers?

Can anyone tell me the makes and models of the cars and planes being used by the Martians?
Perhaps, as the Martian climate (global warming) is following a similar pattern to that on earth, Ford and Boeing have already landed there. Not really following the thread title but hey, any excuse. ![]()
