I believe that the Sky+ and HD boxes do actually have a fast Ethernet port, but there's no chance of modding the firmware to card-share. It's there to do push-VOD etc.
You need to buy a Dreambox and put your Sky card in that to share it. Other cards can be shared with the Diablo Wireless setup if you have receivers with CAM slots. Both Sky cards and Sky digiboxes have ID numbers, and the Dreambox can handle/emulate that - but it's only required for premium subscriptions. Low-end subscriptions don't require paired numbers - even in a Sky digibox. If you want to run a single (non-Sky digibox - they don't support DiSEqC for obvious reasons) receiver (be it a Skystar 2 or anything else) with more than one LNB (whether they are on one dish or two, three or four dishes) then yes, you need a DiSEqC switch. Sorry about the bracket overload there! ops:Don't want to pay? Just use the Skystar, some free software and a second dish. You might as well chuck in a motor for what they cost (around £40). That will maximise your viewing pleasure. ![]()
