Hi mates i been trying to use my skaystar from one motnt.I manage to installed drivers and ran tht on vista .iam using sky sish anfd its installed by sky so i recon that on astra 2 if iam not wrong .so when i tried to scan the transpoder i got no signal.As recoomended by Bgonstick use ur reciever and see if the signals are fine i put my sky digi box with that cable which is coming from dish so i get error in the box.No settelite signal is being received.I used to have this prob when i was using sky .Idisconnected sky and using same dish with skystar card and no signals are coming.What coul dbe the problem.If any body coul help.
Thanks in advance. Actually iam no more with sky and aim trying to acces astra sat with my skysta 2 pc card. |

You get 'No satellite signal is being received' when you use the digibox?
Then it's something to do with the dish/LNB or cable. Your dish has probably not been aligned properly, or has been moved - maybe by the wind. Either try realigning it yourself, or get an installer in to do it for you. It could also be a duff LNB or waterlogged or otherwise shorting cable, so check these too. STICK

thankls mate u think so thats the dish or lnb prob.I had a same feeling ok one think i want to let u know is recently i disconnected my sky .can i still watch astra sat using my sky digi?

You can still view 'free to air' channels on Astra 28E with your skystar
![]() Unfortunately you won't be able to view 'free to view' channels (these include Ch4 & 5) as these are encrypted in NDS/Videoguard and are only viewable using a sky digibox/Dreambox and viewing card Kev

Ya ma dish or lnb is dispositioned:S what can i do should icall some one to fix or is there any any sat metetr o stuff to back it on its postion |

You can either do it by trial and error, or use a compass and a satellite meter. If you're not confident, there are plenty of companies that will do it for you - for a price of course.

No idea about London m8. I'd guess that £30 would be a fair charge in these days of automatic callout charges.
Why don't you have a go yourself? You've got nothing to lose - it's not aligned at the moment!

Thanks very much for quick reply I appreciate.Mate the prob is in aarea iam living all flats are new and they fixed sky dish at the top of wall its impossible without long ladder to reach to skydish.If i can get further help in these regard like who to call to fix the dish becaz prob is i am dissconnected from sky i cant call them to fix dish ops:can u give me some idea who to call or is there any alternative :![]() |
