Please help my curiosity so I may have peace of mind
![]() Here in the Northern hemisphere, as wih some other places, we are above the Equator; thus it makes sense that when setting up/aligning, especially motorised systems, our reference point is "due South". But what about our brethren who live below the equator -- will their reference point be "due North" [I could do with a 'confused' smiley here]

Ah, thanks; been on my mind for some time, that, for some reason.
![]() Obvious joke alert: since Aussies are supposed to be upside down anyway shouldn't they at least also continue to use due south; or maybe I've just had 2 many beers, hic

Yep - southern hemisphere - satellite arc is North.
Too many beers? Dunno, but I do know that we are born with two pints too few in our bloodstream, so it's essential you keep that artificially topped up

Just delete the _ in front of the http. I put it there so that it was not a live link.
