Cutty Sark - the famous ship berthed down in Greenwich has been badly damaged by fire this morning. Police ar etreating the blaze as suspicious:

Very sad. They say it won't stop the conservation of the ship though. Half of it is in Chatham anyway.

If anything good comes of this sad event - it may be that the other surviving clipper "City of Adelaide" isnt scrapped at the Scottish Maritime Museum yet..

That's interesting, and my immediate reaction is to simply pay up - but at what point is there so little of the original ship left that it really is just a replica?

It should never have been left to slip into this sad state in the first place >
