Using Sky box just to receive the free channels. This last month - I see the Sky menu ok, along with the sound. But I can only receive sky news, BBC Parliament and a few obscure shopping channels All other channels selected show Satellite unavailable. I have tried unplugging power to the digibox waiting 10-15 mins reconnecting. Tried Disconnecting the lot – reconnecting, no luck.
Could this be a faulty digibox. Any thoughts? Many thanks in anticipation Ernie |

It's certainly an odd problem. The best way to test it is to simply try a different receiver. There's nothing else to be done really, except trying your box on another dish of course.

Whilst its very difficult to diagnose problems on a forum that sounds like the symptoms caused by a failing power supply. Its not an old Grundig is it? - they are notorious for having the capacitors in the psu go out of tolerance......

The box is a Panasonic TU-DSB30.
I removed and replaced the satellite cable, with a little success in so much that I could find other channels for a short while but would suddenly go to “No satellite signal is being received”. But switch to sky news all ok. It will sometimes work if you switch on and off from the remote. It’s just strange that a signal can be received for one channel and not for any others. I will try a new cable. Ern |

You haven't changed your LNB recently have you? Some receivers don't like some makes of LNB too.
