Default DigitalAlb - worth it or not?

I wanted some advice on the DigitalAlb subscription packages. Is it any good? Whats the picture quality like? Which package should I go for, i.e 12 months full? How much english programming is there? Will they be showing premiership footie next season?

Any info would be very much appreciated.

Oh and can these be received by patch, key, card etc? Without a subscription basically. Purely out of interest.

Hi Spider,

I have had a Digitalb sub for a while and am completely happy with it. 95%+ of the films are English/American but have the annoying Albanian subtitles ( not annoying to the natives I assume ). The five film channels show some good films, some of which are shown before sly show them. The film quality is generally very good.

Footy is shown in 4:3 format and the quality is generally good. They dont show much before or after the kickoff but the commentary is usually in English by the English commentators.

Now the downside: Unless you are fluent in Albanian, the programme guides are not very helpful. In the past there have been film lists published but they have stopped in recent months. Having said all that, I will renew my sub when it becomes due.

Why should the films go off? I have never had any problems with the film or footy channels.

i've just got the supersport card and think its good picture on it so far, apparently they was using old encoders from sat+ when they merged and not changed them as people was complaining about picture quality but i think it is ok

you could get premiere for football but its more expensive like double price

Its a long time since I heard of any film problems. Some time back Digitalb had the tea boy in charge of loading films in old analogue machines and I think he had trouble reading the titles.

I have not had a problem with a Digitalb film for the last year or 18 months. The old problem stories keep getting aired.

Thanks guys

I have taken all the advice onboard I think I will probably go for it when the new premiership season starts. Like Jimdefruit I haven't heard of certain channels disappearing, although I have heard mixed comments about the quality of the picture.

Cheers

I have an ART card, and generally found the picture quality comparable to Premiere Sport Portal. ART is supposedly the worst quality picture for the footy, though it was still perfectly watchable - and I'm fussy.

DigitAlb is supposedly better quality (and it's the cheapest CARD ATM), so I'll probably go this route too - but only if everything else dries up come kick-off.

I regret buying the ART card in some respects, as loads of stuff opened up soon after I bought it. The commentary language doesn't bother me. They talk a load of crap anyway
