Bungee rope style alternative to ladders?

Right. I hate heights, but not all heights, I love bungee jumping, freefalling and parachuting - but I can't stand being stood at the top of a ladder. It just freaks me out.

Is there anything (like you see on the bond films rofl) that I can have attached to something high to pull myself up? It would make life way easier, because I have to go really high every time I have to do dish maintaince.

Sort of like a safety rope if you go rock climbing?

Seriously, why don't you try one of those climber's butt-harnesses, and loop a rope over your dish mount if it's strong enough?

T&K brackets should be strong enough to hold your weight, or at least break your fall big-time. I lash the top of the ladder to my top bracket to stop it going walkabout while I'm up there. It's not that high in my case, but it does make the whole thing feel much more secure.

I did fall off a (short) wobbly ladder a few years back. Never again will I believe I'm invincible. Both feet slipped forward off the (same) rung and my body slipped through the 'hole' until my arse arrested the slide, then I fell backwards, bending unnaturally at the waist until the back of my head hit the ladder somewhere below wherever my feet now were and nearly breaking both my legs, and then the ladder fell off the bricks on which it was balanced (yes, I know...) and the whole lot tipped over backwards, smashing my head on the ground and having the ladder smack me in the face again for good measure. Or something like that. It's all a bit of a blur, but my family thought it was funny for some reason.

So I don't like ladders either, but don't let that put you off :roflmao:

No way am I putting 2 T & K mounts (which I put up on a ladder so probably are crap) in charge of my life (Victorian house - very high).

I found these so called 'escape ladders' - like rope ladders.

I'd be fine with those
