Hi,I now live in Crete and get Astra 28e,Arabsat 2a3a and Hotbird.Ive read that it may be possible to get ITV and BBC channels on the Astra.Is there anybody out there that can tell me if thats true and what equipment do I have to have to get them.I do currently get BBC stream FTA on Astra.Do I have to get hold of a Sky box for instance or is it possible to get :? FTA on my ordinary Commander 6000IRCI box?

Your biggest problem for the BBC & ITV is lack of signal in Crete. You will need a dish somewhere around 2.5m - 3.5m in diameter!

If you can find a big enough dish then any digital receiver will work for you.

Thanks for reply,large dishes are available here,just have to balance whether I want one on my roof!

you will need a serious sized dish to get bbc/itv over in crete over 3 metres in size, you just need to decide whether the cost is worth it for a few channels

Sorry but especially in Crete the needed diameter gets too big. Be prepared for 5-6m. It's proven by many professional measurements. So nothing for private use since too costly, heavy and huge. The only solution i see is to watch them over IP of course if you have ADSL there.
