Default Beginners advice for a satellite setup

Hi, I'm new to this and therefore need some quality advice please. Having terminated my Sky contract recently (due to the monthly cost and programme quality) I feel it's time to go it alone and setup a system that is specific to my viewing requirements. As the premiership and champions league football (2007/08 season) is at the top of my viewing list, is there a system, with viewing card, you can recommend I can purchase. I appreciate any advice and tips you can offer.

Thank you

a dish 90cm pointed to 16 east and a digitalb supersport card will get you uk premiership football a package of card, dish, receiver and cables etc should cost around 300 notes plus fitting if you dont want to do it yourself or cant

not sure which european providers show championship football, i think polsat do but not 100% on that, another member should be able to help on that one

I assume you still have your sly dish and receiver so with your existing card you will get the BBC/ITV/channel 4 and 5 etc for free which with any luck will still show some Champions matches for a while.

A separate dish with a motor will give you a lot more options although a fixed dish on 16 East will get you Supersports matches as Wod has said.

I've not missed many Champions league games - they are often shown on loads of satellites either FTA or in weak encryption systems.

I'm in a similar position except I'd like to add Setanta to the Prem and Champs league, (plus some golf channels for the wife)! I'm fed up paying lots of dough to Sky for lots of channels I never watch. Give me sport, some news, and the BBC and ITV - that's enough for me. And the footie is a must.....
