Thanks all
I am still pretty curious how for example Marconi Digital gets his Premiere cards if you need a German address and bank account :?

Don't really know m8.

The same happens with all subscription cards sold abroad. I suspect that these people just buy up a load as an 'official' agent/reseller, and then flog them on for a one-off fee. Certainly no bank-account details required when you buy one this way.

To be honest, the providers all know this goes on, and they love it. More card sales is not a problem. The seemingly strict requirements (bank dets. etc.) are just to satisfy the content providers that their sports, movies etc. will only be viewed by folks in their native country - so that the content provider can then go and sell the same content to a provider in a neighbouring country and make the same profit over again.

Everyone just seems to 'work around' the problem of satellite TV being effectively borderless

Lots of loopholes to exploit.

yeah i think official cards being used in your house etc just gets swept under the carpet as they say, as it would be more trouble than its worth to go chasing the sellers

diablo cam + cas 3 would be a good option as not everything is open on emu patches e.g. premiere etc

think a l s a t doing a deal for 79 of diablo cam and cas3

So why is it that it's the landlords that are being prosecuted, when I presume that they are acquiring Art cards ans so on from the resellers, dealers etc... who from what we are saying are blatantly flouting the law and yet advertise their products all over the internet and Satellite magazines
Sorry to harp on about this ops: but I believe it's not right that individuals are not able to openly purchase cards direct from source and have to pay through the nose to middlemen. >

Or to have to pay through the nose to a monopoly - which is exactly the reason that the 'unofficial' satellite scene is so large and healthy. You're right - none of this is fair in a free-market economy, which Europe is loosely touted as.

Unfortunately the scene itself breeds money-grabbing middlemen, and this has tainted the old-school free-for-all philosophy somewhat, but hey - nothing's perfect, right?
