Hi there, this is my first post and I'm looking for some help in selecting the right equipment to receive Astra 2d in Stockholm. I know that unless I get a massive dish (2.4>) I'm not going to get many channels on vertical transponders but that should be OK as BBC/ITV seem to have horizontals that I'm hoping can be picked up OK with a 1.2m dish.
I have already purchased a Pace 2600 C1 as these are supposed to be good in fringe areas. Now I need to find a good dish / LNB / feedhorn combo and someone to install it. Can someone please recommend the following> Dish (1.2m max) LNB (with or without integrated feedhorn) Feedhorn (if not integrated) Anything else needed? By the way, if any of you are in the Stockholm area and are interested in installing the system for me then I'm willing to pay the going rates. Thanks for the help. |

Taking your self-imposed 1.2m limit literally, you should probably go for a Channel Master (Andrews) 1.2m, Invacom C120 QUAD and Channel Master feedhorn.
Easy, huh? Welcome to the forum! ![]() These dishes can be picked up quite cheaply on eBay.

Any reason why the quad and not the double Invacom LNB? I also read that Inverto's are better if the the cable is over 20m which mine might be. Any thoughts on that. ![]() |

Sure - I deliberately didn't tease you with the Gibertini 1.25m dish for that reason
![]() The Invacom quad is almost the automatic choice for areas like southern Spain and some of the islands - it just seems to outperform the single and the twin - though there is no logical reason for that AFAIK. I guess you may have other considerations to factor in - temperature being the obvious one. I don't have any specific knowledge one way or the other on this I'm afraid. I know a fellow Swede who uses all sorts of LNBs including SMWs (a bit old-hat now) and the Inverto White Techs to good effect on 1.2m dishes of various makes. The Inverto is a good LNB. I use them (the 40mm black LNBFs anyway), and so do some of the other guys here (as well as the C120 variants). Haven't heard of the long cable preference for the Inverto, though when you get that marginal, nothing would surprise me. In that case, I would definitely be looking at CT125 cable as an option. The receiver you've picked is certainly one of the better ones, even now.
