Default FORTEC STAR ZETA TWIN PR

I recently bought a Fortec Star Zeta Twin Tuner PVR. Unfortunately the Technical Support of Fortec Star does not respond to my queries. Hope one of you can help me with the following:

1. I connected the 200 GB Extrenal hard Drive (Samsung) IEEE1394 to the receiver, when I tried to initialize the PVR, I get a message "HDD not built in". Why the receiver is not able to recognize the HDD?

2. I am unable to tune C- band verticallly polarised channels even with 5750 setting.

Thanks
Munchan

I'm afraid I can't help with your C-band question, but it appears quite simply to me that external drives are not supported. It would be unusual for the firmware to trap and report that error specifically if it did.

Why is it not supported? I have no idea. Perhaps its a power issue?

Did it say that external drives are supported in the documentation?

I thought you need to connect internal hard drive, not the external one? According to Maplin FAQ, the Firewire is for software transfer only.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, as suggested by you, the hard disk has to be installed in the receiver itself.
Unfortunately, Fortec Zeta Manual does not mentione about the same.
