Default Loss Of Signal

I seem to be encountering something of a problem with a new LNB that I have just fitted. Previously I was using a single output LNB on a 65Cm dish pointing at Astra 1KR 19 deg E and was receiving the full range of channels

The LNB that I have fitted has a dual output for two receivers, which I have connected up and seem to work on all channels except those on frequency 10832 where these channels are showing poor or no signal.

Any ideas anybody?

Thanks. Len.

The experts will probably come up with more likely causes but two possibilities somewhat;

a) need a very very marginal increase (say, the width of a coin) in the dish elevation

b) very marginal skew adjustment

Loss of a single frequency is often down to local interference. You can use the following thread as a guide on how to calculate the actual frequency at which you might be receiving such interference, and this might in turn give you a better clue as to what it might be.

That's due to a DECT phone, but the are several possibilities.

Are there any cables run alongside your sat coax, or any obvious visual clues as to what could be causing it?

Transmission masts for example?

Was it a cheap LNB you fitted?

The LNB that I purchased was a Fortec Star FSKU-2V at around £30.

The only cables that run parallel to the coax are two other coax cables from a terrestrial tv aerial and a radio aerial mounted in the loft.

From the comments received I feel it may be something to do with LNB skew or slight dish re-alignment as the new LNB is a bit heavier than the previous single output model, and may be pulling the dish down enough to cause some missalignment.

Thank you anyways for you help, it looks like another trip up to the chimney this weekend.

Very best regards. Len.
